From WKRN: While inflation has fallen from 2022 peaks, high prices are still eating into household budgets.

 

Home prices, rent, and food inflation, as well as higher prices for gas, are making it so that each dollar earned has even less purchasing power than before.

 

Stacker, an online company that shares data-driven information, compiled a list of counties with the lowest cost of living in Tennessee. Two in our area made the top 30 list. 

 

#27. Meigs County

#2. Polk County

– Overall Rank across the country: 186– Median home value: $128,200 (79% own)– Median rent: $678 (21% rent)
