16 states and one U.S. Territory held elections yesterday for Super Tuesday. Former President Donald Trump continued to dominate the Republican Primary and current President Joe Biden, who is unopposed in most states, also saw little competition. 

 

In Tennessee, Trump walked away with approximately 77% of the Republican Primary vote, while Biden received 92% of the Democratic Primary vote. Trump received a total of 446,534 votes yesterday, his nearest competitor, Nikki Haley, received 112,770. Biden received 122,671 votes statewide. 

 

In Bradley County, Trump received 80% of the vote, with 10,061 votes. Nikki Haley received 2,050 votes. Biden received 670 votes locally. 

 

The District Attorney’s race for the 10th Judicial District turned out to be close. The District consists of Bradley, Monroe, McMinn, and Polk Counties. District-wide, Stephen Hatchett walked away as the winner of the race. 

 

Hatchett received 9,535 votes. Current District Attorney, Shari Tayloe received 8,998 votes, and Local Attorney and former State Senator, Jeff Miller received 7,920 votes.

 

Hatchett carried McMinn and Monroe Counties, while Tayloe carried Bradley County, and Miller won in Polk County. 

 

Locally, several candidates were unopposed.

 

Current Bradley County Assessor of Property, Stanley Thompson, Bradley County School Board members, Nancy Casson in District 1, Teddy Bryson in District 3, and Jeff Lovingood in District 7, Cleveland City School Board Members, Carolyn Ingram District 1, Nathaniel Tucker City-At-Large, and 6th District Constable, Richard Burnette, will all move on to the County General Election in August. 

 

Brittany Hanyes will move on to the County General election after qualifying as a write-in candidate for the Cleveland City Schools District 2 seat. 

 

Rachel Ivey Goins will remain on the Bradley County School Board representing the 5th District. Goins defeated Tracy Forgey in a tight race. 

 

Daren Brantley is the new Constable in the 1st District. Brantley won a three-way race against Shawn Fairbanks and Shane Hayes.
