Suspect charged with repeatedly stabbing man in back at Dayton bar

From NewsChannel 9: A man has been charged with aggravated assault after a violent altercation at Kenny’s Bar in Dayton over the weekend. James Orcutt was caught on video allegedly stabbing another man approximately six times in the back.


The incident occurred early Saturday morning, according to a police report. The report states that Orcutt can be seen leaving the frame of the video and returning with a large knife. The video then shows the victim “slung down to the ground onto his hands and knees,” with Orcutt then stabbing him multiple times.


Orcutt was captured on video leaving the scene with his girlfriend. The victim is currently recovering from his injuries.


Officers later learned Orcutt was staying at the Scottish Inn on Rhea County Highway in Dayton and took him into custody without incident.


The crime is still under investigation.
