From Chattanooga Times Free Press: Nokian Tyres’ planned warehouse in Dayton, Tennessee, has its foundation in place and is on schedule to open in summer 2024, according to a news release.

The 350,000-square-foot facility will hold as many as 600,000 tires, the company said.

Workers are completing installation of 240 tons of steel columns, joists and decking materials, with conveyor installation set to begin next spring, the release said.

The new warehouse will sit next to Nokian Tyres’ factory, which is working to double production in 2024, according to the company. Earlier this year, the global tiremaker hired 125 employees to raise its headcount at the factory to about 475 employees, the company said.

Nokian and BC Construction Group broke ground in early March on the warehouse.

“We’re glad construction of our finished goods warehouse is proceeding according to plan,” Nokian Tyres Dayton Factory Operations Director David Korda said in a statement.
