The 20th annual Great Strides Walk and 18th annual 65 Roses 5k, which raises funds and awareness for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, will be held at Lee University on Saturday, March 28.
The route for the 2020 walk and 5K run (3.1 miles) will begin and end on the Lee campus and travel throughout Cleveland’s historic downtown area. The walk and road race, in partnership with Terra Running Company, will begin at 9 a.m.

Kaitlin Gebby reports: The Bradley County Schools Board of Education has accepted a bid of $2,440,000 from Wilson Construction Group LLC for the Black Fox and North Lee Elementary school projects.
Wilson Construction Group LLC, based in Athens, was the lowest bid for both projects at a total of $2,440,000 of work in 175 calendar days.
Other bids were made by TriCon Inc., of Cleveland, for $2,697,000, and Wilder Contracting LLC, of Harrison, for $2,459,000. The law requires school boards to choose the best and/or lowest bid, giving them the freedom to weigh price and quality of work.

A small fire broke out in the kitchen at the Life Care Center of Ooltewah on the evening of February 8, the Hamilton County Office of Emergency Management & Homeland Security says.
According to Hamilton County spokeswoman Amy Maxwell, 911 dispatch received a report of a kitchen fire around 5:40 p.m.
Upon arrival, firefighters reported a small fire in the laundry bin.
No injuries were reported, but the residents were temporarily moved to another wing of the facility.
Since the Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department was having its awards ceremony, the Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department stepped in with the assistance of the Chattanooga Fire Department.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
