The Cleveland State Community College Foundation makes it a goal to connect alumni with students for educational opportunities and to efforts to uphold the college’s mission. One of those aspects is providing students with resources they need to thrive. First Horizon Foundation has partnered with the CSCC Foundation to make that happen. The college announces that the foundation has donated $10,000 toward a five-year community partnership.

This year, the money will be used for three different initiatives to benefit the college.

The Cleveland State Alumni Legacy Scholarship will be awarded $4,000. This is a new scholarship that started in April of this year. Three scholarships were given to high school students who are children of alumni. These students plan to attend CSCC in the fall.

Approximately $2,000 will be given to the Cleveland State Alumni Community Program. The program benefits from this donation by allowing the college to purchase alumni paraphernalia, promotional give-aways, and other marketing items that will reach and raise awareness about the Alumni Community.

The Cleveland State Legacy Luncheon will receive $4,000 from this donation. This event will be held in September. It will celebrate the CSCC nursing program legacy throughout the community. Nursing alumni will be able to tour and celebrate the new Health and Science Center that now houses CSCC’s nursing program. The Health and Science Center opened in May of this year. It was the first new building for the college in over 46 years.
