Students and staff at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) can expect to return to a normal campus life in Fall 2021, after having to adjust to a unique college experience due to COVID-19.

Since 2020, the pandemic has impacted everything from academics to extracurricular activities.

In February, UTC Chancellor Dr. Steve Angle said, “Our campus has made incredible progress n learning how to best manage the risks of COVID-19 and we have a reason for confidence that we can safely return to a traditional, face-to-face format for instruction.”

As far as relaxing and maintaining protocol, UTC  School of Nursing Director Chris Smith said “We are hopeful that, as more of us get vaccinated, the level of immunity will rise. As we have already seen, COVID-19 can be unpredictable and has the ability to change. With that in mind, we are continuing to review our current protocols.”

Anyone on UTC property will have to continue wearing masks, social distancing, and following other safety protocols when and if necessary.
