The play, originally a classic American holiday tale, is set in a radio broadcast studio in the 1940s and tells the story of George Bailey as he undergoes a life-changing experience on Christmas Eve.

“’It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play’ will be the perfect addition to our already packed Homecoming 2023 programming,” said Brendel, visiting lecturer of theatre at Lee. “Our students have been working so hard to bring this engaging piece of theatre to life for our audiences. We can’t wait to see everyone there!”

The cast of “It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” includes Kevin Collins, Baleigh Drummond, Ellie Hicks, Tanner Jennings, Alexis Larson, Josiah Miller and Noah Miller. The production crew includes Max Byrd, prop master; Emily Farley, assistant stage manager; Ada Ruth Larson, stage manager; and Maddie Mennenga, sound designer.

“The delightful movie comes alive with this unique adaptation set in a radio studio. Our community is sure to enjoy this wonderful evening of entertainment,” said Christine Williams, professor of theatre and department chair at Lee.
