Through Wednesday, a record-breaking 273,325 people cast their ballots by voting early or absentee by mail. This is a 91% increase from the first day of early voting in 2016 and a 120% increase over 2012.

Early voting for the State and Federal Primary and County General election runs Monday to Saturday until Thursday, Oct. 29. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3.

Tennessee voters can find their early voting and Election Day hours, polling locations and more with the GoVoteTN app or online at  GoVoteTN.com. The GoVoteTN app is free to download in the App Store or Google Play.

While visiting the polls, Tennesseans are encouraged to wear a face covering and maintain a six-foot distance from poll officials and other voters. 

In news today…

The Bradley County Board of Education met on Thursday, covering several items of business. Director of Schools Dr. Linda Cash reported that the return to school after fall break went smoothly. She also mentioned that Black Fox and North Lee Elementary additions are at a substantial completion point, with small clean up and minor work remaining. She also announced that there will be a meeting next week to review the overnight trip policy for the spring semester amidst pandemic concerns. An update was given on the PIE Center, indicating that it was progressing well. In addition, a brief update on the COVID-19 situation indicated that numbers remain very, very low. Consistent cleaning is being maintained.

Also in news today…

The visitation and funeral service for Hubert Conley will be held today at First United Methodist Church in Cleveland. Conley, a softball coach at Bradley Central and most recently at Lake Forest Middle Schools, drowned last Friday while on a trip to Pensacola, Florida. The family will receive friends today from 2 until 7pm at First United Methodist Church. Masks will be required at the visitation. The funeral will be held at 7 PM, but will be limited to just over 100 people because of health guidelines. The service will be streamed on the Fike funeral home website.

A graveside service will be held Saturday at 11 AM at flint Springs cemetery.

And finally…

2602 people voted early in Bradley County on Thursday. Early voting continues today from 9 AM until 6 PM, and then Saturday from 9 AM until 4 PM at the three Bradley County early voting sites: the Bradley County Election Commission office, Bradley Square Mall at the former Bath and Body Works store, and in the former BB&T Bank building on McGrady Drive.
