A former daycare worker kicked his son in the face and told him to lie about what happened, according to online court records in Bradley County, Tennessee.

Deputies arrested 26-year-old Jeffrey Shook last Thursday.

A police report says the child told his reading teacher that he had been absent

…because his father Jeffrey Shook got really p—– off at him and kicked him in the face with his shoe. He said he had to stay home and wait for it to heal. He also said his father told him if anyone asked about it to tell them that his brother did it.

That teacher told the school counselor, who then reached out to police.

A case worker heard the same story from the boy, and “observed his injuries and agreed that the marks are like that of being struck.”

A detective said photos of the injury showed it to be “a scab about the size of a dime,” and appeared to be about a week old.

The report says the case worker contacted Shook on the phone, but that Shook refused to cooperate with her.

Shook is now charged with child abuse.

Shook was a worker at Kiddie University on Executive Park Drive NW in Cleveland. A spokesperson for the daycare told us on Monday that Shook is no longer working there.
