From the Cleveland Daily Banner: A former Cleveland Utilities employee, who pleaded guilty to theft of property after he was indicted by a Bradley County Grand Jury, must now pay restitution to his ex-employer.

Under the terms of the agreement with the Bradley County Circuit Court, Richard Douglas Snyder, 59, will pay CU $3,000 in connection with the felony thefts, which included several pieces of electronic equipment, including a desktop computer, minicomputers and a computer server.

The thefts occurred in 2016 and 2017, according to the August 2019 indictment. Snyder, who was CU’s manager of network systems, was arrested on Aug. 29, 2019.

He has been placed on supervised probation until Oct. 5, 2025.

While CU told the Cleveland Daily Banner Snyder has not been employed at the utility since 2019, the utility declined further comment on private personnel matters.
