From News Channel 9: A former Bradley County corrections officer and her husband face more than a dozen charges that they kidnapped and abused a child, according to a grand jury indictment.
The indictment, filed last week, says Krystl Lyn McClure and Chase Shawn McClure, “did unlawfully and knowingly remove or confine [the child]” on several occasions.
Those happened in September, November and December of last year, according to the indictment.
Chase McClure faces a total of 3 kidnapping-related charges.
Krystl McClure faces a total of 21 kidnapping-related charges, including child endangerment and child abuse.
The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office confirms that Krystl McClure worked as a probationary correctional officer between September and December 2023.
Lt. Robert Jones says
She was released from employment for failing to meet the requirements of the probationary period. Upon discovering allegations that lead up to her indictment, Sheriff Lawson made a request to the District Attorney’s Office that they investigate the incident.
