On Sunday, the Cleveland Police Department responded to an area around 4095 Georgetown Road NW which is the dead-end street by McDonald’s on the corner of Paul Huff and Georgetown.
The call was about a welfare check on a subject who was lying beside a crashed 2010 Chevrolet Malibu.
EMS confirmed that the male, later identified as 80-year-old Stanislaw Kotwa, was deceased.
Mr. Kotwa was reported missing out of Dunlap, TN on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
The preliminary investigation showed that Mr. Kotwa was traveling west on the dead-end road beside McDonalds when he passed a “Dead End” sign, traveled off the roadway, went off an embankment, and struck a tree. Following the crash, Mr. Kotwa exited the vehicle and died beside the vehicle.
Cleveland Police Department’s Special Investigation Unit and the Cleveland Police Department’s Crash Team responded to the scene to conduct the investigation.
