From The Herald-News: A Graysville man is facing several drug-related charges after deputies with the Rhea County Sheriff’s Department responded to a 911 call regarding an unresponsive man on Feb. 27, according to an arrest report on file at the Rhea County Sheriff’s Department (RCSD).

Bradley Darrell Owens, 34, is facing several charges after an incident that occurred on Feb. 27 in the area of Ranger Lane in Graysville, according to the report.

At around 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 27, Rhea County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Kevin Ritchey said he was dispatched to Ranger Lane in Graysville, responding to reports of CPR in progress.

“Witnesses at the scene stated that (Owens) was in (an outbuilding) and the next thing they knew, he was slumped over a table,” Ritchey said.

Witnesses at the scene then called 911, Ritchey said, and also started to perform CPR. Responding officers from the Graysville Police Department administered four rounds of Narcan, a medicine used to prevent drug overdoses, Ritchey said.

Once Owens was removed from the scene and taken for medical treatment, Ritchey said that sheriff’s department investigators found a container with a crystal-like substance, a piece of aluminum foil that contained “suspected fentanyl” and a straw “with white powder inside (that was) suspected fentanyl” in the nearby outbuilding.

Witnesses at the scene told investigators that they saw Owens bring a bag into the outbuilding, according to Ritchey’s report, and that upon further investigation, that bag was found to contain a pipe with white residue and burn marks.

Owens was transported to Rhea Medical Center, reports state, but shortly after, law enforcemnt received a call stating that Owens had left the hospital “against medical advice” and was causing a disturbance in the Rhea Medical Center parking lot.

“At that time, Bradley Owens was taken into custody for public intoxication and transported to the Rhea County Jail without incident,” Ritchey said.

Owens was charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, public intoxication, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of probation, according to the arrest report. Jail records indicate he was still incarcerated as of press time Friday.
