We were joined by Dr. Jeff Elliot and Kelly Bender to talk about Kindergarten Registration coming up this weekend.

Cleveland City Schools’ kindergarten registration for the 2022-23 academic year is set for Saturday, March 26, at Cleveland High School’s Raider Arena.
Children must be at 5 years old on or before Aug. 14. 2022.
Required documents are a birth certificate or proof of birth, and proof of residency (rent receipt, utility bill, mortgage statement).
Before entering school in August, every child should have:
• A recent medical examination and documentation from the doctor (since January 2022)
• An official birth certificate or proof of birth
• An immunization record recorded on a permanent Tennessee Immunization Record (2 MMRs; 3 hepatitis B; 2 hepatitis A) (effective July 2011); 5 DPT (one on or after 4th birthday); 4 polio; and 2 chicken pox). If the child has had chicken pox, parents will need a letter verified by their child’s physician, along with dates of illness.
It is important for parents to register their child for kindergarten in March in order for their child to have a place in their local zoned school, Cleveland City Schools said in a press release.
Begin registration by completing forms online at: https://www.clevelandschools.org/page/kindergarten-enrollment-and-registration. Questions? Call the district at 423-472-9571.
