The Bradley County Commission met on Tuesday covering several items of business.

County Mayor D. Gary Davis recognized Destiny Ward, who was selected as Ms. Cleveland for the Ms. Tennessee for America Pageant in February.

She was at the meeting to speak on the issue of homelessness in general, and in particular in this community.

Discussion was held on a state bill that has been signed by the governor, House Bill 1012, Senate 1493, requiring that the constable’s fee be approved on the local level.

This allows constables to increase the fee from $40 to $50 for certain jobs they perform for the community. This increase is set to begin in July.
