The Bradley County Commission met yesterday.

 

Bradley County Mayor, Gary Davis, asked commissioners to pass a Resolution authorizing Bradley County to join the National Purchasing Partners Government Division to give the county options for buying through cooperatives and purchasing equipment without going through the bidding process on certain purchases. The resolution passed 13-0

 

The Mayor also passed out a Resolution authorizing Bradley County to enter into an agreement with another cooperative for the purchase of emergency service equipment. The resolution passed 13- 0.

 

Mayor Davis also informed the commission that Bradley County has been awarded an Addressing Food Insecurities grant in the amount of $362,820 from the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development.

 

The Commissioners also passed a resolution authoring the Mayor to negotiate and enter into an agreement with Justin Spears for the design, installation, and management services for an 18-hole disc golf course at Elrod Park. The project will be completed with a $10k TVA Grant. The resolution passed 11-2.

 

Jeff Stewart was unanimously confirmed as the new Bradley County Fire and Rescue Chief by the Commission. Mayor Davis presented Stewart with a certificate of promotion.

 

The Commissioners voted unanimously to appropriate up to $10k to clean up a neglected property at  2045 Broomfield Road which has fallen into disrepair. 

 

The Building and Land Committee met and voted to recommend a resolution authorizing the mayor to execute a deed to the Church of God of Prophecy for approximately 1.6 acres of property on Tomlinson College Road upon payment.  The resolution passed 13-0.

 

The commission will meet again for a Work Session on December 11th at noon at the Courthouse.
