From NewsChannel 9: Fire caused major damage to an auto shop in Meigs County Tuesday night, but firefighters succeeded in keeping the flames from spreading. No one was hurt.

 

The fire broke out a little after 7 p.m. on the 400 block of River Road, according to a Facebook post by Meigs County Emergency Services.

 

Arriving firefighters found flames coming from the roof and rear of the auto shop.

 

With coordinated efforts from other agencies, firefighters got the flames under control in about 20 minutes.

 

The prompt and decisive actions of the responders not only prevented the fire from spreading further but also minimized potential damage to the property,’ the post says.

Right now, it’s not clear how much damage the fire caused, or what caused it.
