It is with tremendous sadness that Bradley County Schools announces the passing of beloved educator and school board member, Mr. Jerry Frazier. Above all, Mr. Frazier was a man of faith who always put God and family first. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Frazier family during this time of tremendous loss.
Mr. Frazier was an education icon who devoted his life to the betterment of the students in Bradley County. He was a true public servant in every aspect of the word and was loved by all who knew him.
Mr. Frazier began his teaching career at Bradley in 1970 where he taught and coached before becoming an administrator at both the elementary and high school levels. In 1988, Jerry Frazier was elected Superintendent of Bradley County Schools where he remained dedicated to serving the teachers and students in the community through 1996. He ended his career in Bradley County as principal of Charleston High School in 1999. Mr. Frazier continued teaching for an additional ten years in Georgia.
Because of his vast experience in education, his love for children, and his relationships in the community, Jerry Frazier was elected to the Bradley County School Board. He was currently serving in his second term.
Mr. Jerry Frazier was a passionate champion of Bradley County Schools and his loss leaves a void that will never be filled. May we all remember the impact that he had in transforming Bradley County Schools.

The head of Tennessee’s Veterans Services, as well as a top deputy, resigned following separate investigations into allegations of sexual misconduct and abusive behavior, records show.
Gov. Bill Lee’s office confirmed Monday that former Commissioner Courtney Rogers and Deputy Commissioner Tilman Goins had resigned. The governor’s office did not reveal further details about why or when the resignations had taken place.
Instead, investigation summary reports provided to The Associated Press by the Department of Human Resources show the two faced separate complaints and eventually submitted their resignation letters on Nov. 25.
The records show Rogers was accused of subjecting employees to abusive behavior — which included frequent yelling and belittling remarks. She was also accused of using inappropriate “racial and homophobic stereotypes and slurs.”
Meanwhile, a separate investigation summary showed that Tilman Goins was accused of having inappropriate relationships with two subordinate employees.
Investigators reported that Goins and one of the employees had feelings for each other based on text messages provided by both parties and “reported conduct from the other person of a sexual nature.”
Both of them then handed identical one-sentence resignation letters on Nov. 25, the day before Thanksgiving.

NewsChannel 9 has confirmed with Meigs County Director of Schools Clint Baker that following their state championship loss to Peabody High School over the weekend, the schools entire football team is now in quarantine.
Director Baker tells us the quarantine is a “precautionary situation,” and that other schools that were at the championship have been contacted regarding a potential exposure.
Baker would not say whether the contact happened during the weekend or during the championship game.
He says the school district was made aware of the possible exposure on Monday, and players entered quarantine on Monday as well.
