The commission also heard from several citizens regarding the rezoning of a 5-acre property on Dalton Pike. If rezoned, it would become the home of a new SPCA Animal shelter. The area in question is part of the old Waterville School property. from residential commercial, which would accommodate an animal shelter.

On March 21st, the planning commission voted 2-6 to recommend denying the SPCA’s request, but the county commission will be the deciding body when they take a vote next Monday.

The next voting session of the Country Commission will be on Monday, April 15th at noon.
