From News 12: The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is urging folks to be safe while boating ahead of Memorial Day.

 

The TWRA encourages boaters to have fun but also be responsible.

 

During Memorial Day weekend, the TWRA also sees a rise in impaired driving on the water.

 

The TWRA is encouraging folks to have functioning boat equipment and lifejackets on board. See other water safety tips here.

 

“We are going to be out, just like we are throughout the rest of the summer, ensuring waterway safety and making sure everybody is in compliance with our safety regulations,” said David Holt, District Boating Officer. “We are making sure everybody has the proper safety equipment that they are required to have.”
