In news today…

The Bradley County Commission met on Monday and executed several items of business, including approval of a resolution allowing the Mayor to execute a contract for detention services with the U.S. Marshals Service, in which Bradley County will house 50 federal detainees at base level at the Bradley County Jail, for the amount of $64 per detainee per day. Also approved were various amendments to the county schools, county clerk, and fire department budgets.

Also of note, concerns had been previously expressed to the Commission that the Pledge of Allegiance was not being performed at some county schools. It was determined that all schools are regularly participating in the pledge other than some exceptions that were related to COVID-19.
