Cleveland City Schools will operate with the Stage 1 Red Phase learning schedule the week of January 19th-22nd. Monday, January 18 schools are closed in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Tuesday, January 19 will begin stage 1 in the red phase to an A/B In-Person/At-Home Learning Schedule. All elementary schools will be open in a traditional, in-person setting unless a specific school has a high transmission rate. If an elementary school building closes, the school will transition to at-home learning.

Secondary level buildings, Cleveland High School and Cleveland Middle School, will operate at a 50% reduced capacity until COVID conditions improve enough for the system to transition to its Yellow Phase. Students will be split into two groups according to their family’s last name. All students at the secondary level will be attending school two days a week for in-person instruction and participating in class work three days a week through distance learning. Attendance will be taken daily. CCS self-contained special education students will be able to attend in-person settings Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Your child’s school will be in touch with you regarding the details on how the academic plan will unfold next week.

Regarding school nutrition services at the secondary level, the days students are in traditional school they will be served breakfast and lunch in their buildings. When they leave school for the day they will go home with multiple meals. All grade levels may pick meals up at all schools every day next week between 9:00 am and 10:00 am. As a reminder, any child between the ages of 0-18 is eligible for no cost breakfast and lunch.

Buses will run on their normal routes on Monday through Thursday for secondary level students attending school in person and for elementary level students Monday through Friday. After-school activities will not take place at our elementary schools next week. Middle and high school students should check with their coach or sponsor regarding any after-school type of events.
