UPDATE, 8 a.m.- (From NewsChannel 9) Chattanooga Police Chief Celeste Murphy says a person was shot in the face outside the Amazon Fulfillment Center on Volkswagen Drive in Chattanooga early Wednesday morning.
Chief Murphy told us outside the center that the victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
She praised the efforts of Amazon employees who worked to save the victim’s life before first responders arrived.
Chief Murphy says right now there haven’t been any arrests in the case, but says this incident is not a threat to the public.

Earlier: Police are currently responding to a shooting outside of the Amazon Plant near Volkswagen Drive.
Reports of the shooting came in at approximately 4:33am Wednesday morning when Chattanooga police responded to a person shot call at Discovery Drive.
At this time, authorities have yet to release any details on the number or condition of any victims.
