From Local 3 News: UPDATE: Chattanooga police say one person was killed in a crash on I-75 North near Ooltewah on Thursday.

 

The crash happened around 4:00pm, just south of Exit 11.

 

Police say a driver crashed into an unoccupied vehicle on the shoulder of the interstate after the driver of a third vehicle pulled in front of the victim’s car, forcing the victim to hit the brakes and move to the shoulder.

The driver who crashed had two passengers in the vehicle.

 

Police say the front seat passenger was killed and the passenger in the back seat, along with the driver, were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The name of the person killed is not being released until his or her family has been notified.

 

Police have not said if the investigation is ongoing.

 

No charges have been filed at this time.


PREVIOUS STORY: A crash on I-75 is blocking a portion of the northbound side near Ooltewah on Thursday.

 

According to TDOT, a crash involving multiple vehicles happened just before Exit 11 around 4:00pm.

 

All lanes except the the left shoulder are closed at this time.

 

The cause of the crash and the condition of the people involved are unknown.
