AN EVENT LIKE NO OTHER The Ryder Cup has become one of the world’s greatest sporting events. Every two years, 24 of the best players from Europe and the United States go head-to-head in match play competition. This year the boys from America take on the Europeans in Rome Italy at the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club. The Marco Simone Golf and Country Club started its Tom Fazio redesign in 2018 and was completed in March of 2021. Spectators will have unrivalled vantage points of the on-course action as well as distant views of the famous Eternal City, including spectacular views of St Peter’s Basilica and of the Castle of Marco Simone which together will provide the backdrop to golf’s greatest team contest. The last time the US won in Europe was in 1993 when US Captain Tom Watson and rookie sensation Davis Love III beat Europe 15 to 13 at The Belfry in England. With a large 27-14 lead dating back to 1927 the Americans look to add another victory to their win and the first in Europe in 30 years! American captain Zach Johnson will have Superstars like LIV Golfer Brooks Koepka along with PGA stars like Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, along with new comers such as Sam Burns and Wyndham Clark. The Americans will be taking on a European team who are looking to rebound this year after a horrible loss in 2021 at The American Club in Kohler, WI where the Americans won 19-9. They are led by Captain Luke Donald and World renowned stars of the likes of Rory Mcilory, Jon Rahm, and Viktor Hovland. The Ryder Cup can be watched this weekend on USA and NBC with Opening Ceremonies starting at 10 am on Thursday on the Golf Channel The matchups for this weekend are Friday Foursomes — 1:30 a.m. (USA) Four-ball — 6:30 a.m. (USA) and then Saturday Foursomes — 1:30 a.m. (USA, switch to NBC at 3 a.m.) and Four-ball — 6:30 a.m. (NBC).
