Cleveland Police Department officers, along with CPD Chaplains, will host a FREE breakfast at a local Chick-Fil-A, to allow the public to come for prayer or to address community issues with the intent of engaging in meaningful face-to-face discussions. Faith & Blue Weekend is a national event with activities in communities across the country that bring together law enforcement and residents to build connections, create mutual understanding, and enhance justice and reconciliation. The event will take place this Friday, October 8th, from 7-9AM at the Chick-fil-A near Exit 27 on Paul Huff Parkway. You can read more about this initiative at www.faithandblue.org.

The Cleveland Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect in a recent robbery.

A post on the police department’s Facebook page says on Monday, a white man wearing a gray hoodie entered Cavalier Finance at 2437 Keith Street NW.

The man then robbed and assaulted an employee and then fled on foot.

The Cleveland Police Department is asking anyone with information on this incident to please contact Detective Matthew Landolt at 423-559-3389 or to leave a confidential tip at the CPD Facebook inbox.

The Bradley County Commission met on Monday covering several items of business. Bradley County Mayor D. Gary Davis gave an update on COVID-19, stating there were 557 active cases in the county as of Friday. He also reported the Association of County Mayors sent a letter to the governor and state legislature of Tennessee, signed by most of the state’s mayors, in regards to their opposition of the federal COVID mandates from President Biden and their request for the state to oppose it. A resolution was passed authorizing the Mayor to execute a memorandum of understanding with the Bradley County Board of Education regarding the UT Extension Office for a period of 60 months for an amount of $5,095. Also passed was a resolution opposing President Biden’s vaccination mandate that extends to 80 million private workers and may apply through OSHA regulations to county government employees.
