Cleveland, TN (March 19, 2024) – Tennova Healthcare – Cleveland is proud to announce a partnership with Erlanger for the coverage of Tennova’s Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Under the terms of the partnership, Tennova Healthcare – Cleveland will maintain operations of the NICU while Erlanger will provide board-certified neonatologists and neonatal nurse practitioners.

“Tennova Healthcare – Cleveland has been a birthing destination of choice for families in the Ocoee Region and Tennessee Valley for 70 years,” said Jarrett Millsaps, FACHE, CEO of Tennova Healthcare – Cleveland. “Our Level II NICU has been serving some of our most vulnerable patients for more than ten years now, and this approach to combine our teams of dedicated nurses, neonatologists, and neonatal nurse practitioners reinforces our shared commitment to mothers and families who are looking for high quality birthing options close to home.”

“As the regional pediatric hospital, we have been partners in many ways with Tennova Healthcare – Cleveland for several years, and this new agreement expands our shared commitment to the health and wellness of mothers and babies,” said Charles Woods, M.D., CEO of Children’s Hospital at Erlanger. “Our collective goal is focused solely on advancing the care for all, including mothers who are looking for advanced neonatal capabilities closer to home.”

“As neonatologists, we look to partner with the community’s obstetricians in ways that allow for superior outcomes and experiences,” said Shannon Rigler, M.D., medical director of neonatology for Erlanger. “Our partnership with the hospital and the community physicians will serve to strengthen neonatal care in the region allowing us to keep more newborns closer to their families in Cleveland.”

“As a physician who has dedicated my career to the advancement of women’s health, we could not be more excited to partner with the neonatologists at Erlanger,” said Cynthia Harris, M.D., chief of obstetrics at Tennova Healthcare – Cleveland. “We have provided outstanding care to our community for years, and it’s a pleasure to have teammates join us who are as committed as we are.”
