From NewsChannel 9: An inmate in custody at the Bradley County Jail died Monday night.

The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) says agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) are now on the case.

A release says corrections officers and medical staff found the still-unidentified inmate unresponsive.

They worked to save his life, but doctors later pronounced him dead at Tennova Hospital.

The release says the inmate’s family has been notified of his death.
