UPDATE: We now know the identities of the two women killed in a house fire on Sunday on North Brook Drive NE.

 

Dnese Moore (68) and Myrtle Irene Moore (93) both died in the fire. 

 

Authorities say the fire began in the kitchen as a result of a cooking accident.

 


 

From Bradley County Fire Rescue- On Sunday, Bradley County Fire Rescue responded to a house fire on North Brook Drive NE.

 

The fire occurred in the 100 block of North Brook Drive NE and began in the kitchen as a result of a cooking accident.

 

As crews worked to extinguish the fire, secondary crews searched the residence. Tragically, two individuals were located in a bedroom. They have been identified as a 93-year-old female and a 68-year-old female. Both victims were transported to the hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries, primarily smoke inhalation. 

 

Out of respect for the family, the names of the victims will not be released until the next of kin has been notified.
