The Bradley County School Board met last night.
During the meeting, Director of Schools, Dr. Linda Cash, gave the annual State of the Schools Address. The presentation highlighted the successes of Bradley County Schools.
During the last year, 5 schools achieved Reward School Status, 5 schools were a TVASS Level 5 school, One was named as a TVASS Level 4 school, and one school, Michigan Avenue Elementary, was named a National Blue Ribbon School.
98.63% of third graders were eligible to be promoted without summer tutoring or summer school.
The system had a 95.3% graduation rate and over $17 million in scholarships.
Bradley County Schools also was awarded over 24 million dollars in grants last year.
Vicki Beaty was elected as Chairman of the School Board during the meeting. Beaty will follow 6th District School Board member Amanda Lee in the position.
Teddy Bryson was elected Vice Chairman, and Nancy Casson was elected the Tennessee Legislative Network Representative.
