We were joined by Sandra Godsey with Cleveland State CC to share details about the Community Pitch event taking place. Small businesses that are between 6 months and 2 years old can submit their application online now. February 10th is the deadline to enter the Community Pitch Contest.
The event will be held on Thursday, March 30 on the campus of Cleveland State.

The George R. Johnson Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation located on the Cleveland
State Community College main campus has been established for individuals that are interested in
building or growing their own enterprises. The intent of the center is to connect current and
future entrepreneurs with the resources needed to create, launch, and grow their businesses. This
will be accomplished through education, workshops and expos, pitch competitions, and
relationships within our communities, by connecting with the Small Business Development Center, the
Cleveland Bradley Business Incubator, Chambers of Commerce throughout our service area, and
the faculty at Cleveland State.
The Center is open to interested community members and will also support and promote the
Entrepreneurship concentration through the Business AAS degree program for CSCC students.
Additionally, the college’s Continuing Education program will provide training opportunities for
practitioners in the field. In addition to providing education, training and resources, students will
have the opportunity to participate in pitch competitions which will allow students the
opportunity to win in-kind services to help them start their businesses.
The CEO – Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization, is a student Entrepreneurship Club, led by
our full-time faculty member Sandra Godsey, which provide students with the opportunity to
meet with local entrepreneurs in our community and compete in competitions at the local, state,
and national level, as well as participate in community projects.
