Cleveland City Schools Director, Dr. Russell Dyer, has been named the new Director of Schools in Collierville Tennessee.
Dr. Dyer’s contract with the city of Cleveland stipulates that he stay at least 60 days. The timeline of Dyer’s departure is not yet official.
Cleveland City Schools released a statement yesterday afternoon. The statement said that the Cleveland City Board of Education will start a search for a new Director of Schools to ensure a seamless transition. Nate Tucker, Chairman of the Cleveland City Board of Education said in the statement quote, “The Cleveland City Board of Education fully supports Dr. Russell Dyer’s decision to embark on a new chapter with Collierville schools we extend our unwavering support and look forward to a seamless collaboration during this transition”. The statement also said that Cleveland city schools will provide regular updates to the community throughout the process.
Bradley County Schools Director, Dr.Linda Cash said in a statement, “Congratulations to Dr. Dyer. He is a colleague and a friend. I wish him the best and know he will enjoy being close to his family. We all thank him for his contributions to our community.”
