From News 12: A Cleveland woman is being charged with stealing more than $97,000 in lottery tickets from a gas station she worked at.

Cleveland police officers arrested Kathaleen Yarber on Tuesday, January 2.

Yarber had a warrant for her arrest and officers took her into custody during a traffic stop.

On November 6, 2023, the owner of a gas station on Paul Huff Parkway reported a theft of $97,217 from the store.

The thefts had taken place between March 2023 until November 2023.

A police report indicated that Yarber was an employee at the store and had been taking lottery tickets without paying for them.

Police said Yarber scratched off and scanned the lottery tickets in the system. She then took money from the register and safe and put the money in her bra.

An officer said they reviewed video footage of this occurring as well.

Authorities arrested and charged Yarber with theft of property over $60,000.
