From Local 3 News: Grants totaling at $3.59 million will promote broadband opportunity and bring high-quality digital jobs in Bradley County, state representative Kevin Raper says.
Bradley County will receive four separate grants as part of the overall funding by the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development.
In all, the investments will provide broadband access to 236,000 Tennesseans across 92 counties.
Grant recipients include:
- Gener8tor Management, LLC: $899,999 to serve part of Bradley County and 9 other counties
- Southeast Tennessee Development District: $198,000 to serve part of Bradley County and 9 other counties
- The Enterprise Center: $1,979,965 to serve part of Bradley County and 9 other counties
- University of Tennessee: $512,916 to serve part of Bradley County and 19 other counties
“Access to quality broadband is an essential aspect of each of our lives,” Raper said. “These grants will provide opportunities for Bradley County residents to expand their digital skills and become more competitive in the workforce. I thank TNECD for allocating this funding to our community and I congratulate each of the recipients for their hard work and dedication to improving Southwest Tennessee.”
