Bradley County Commission meeting recap

The County Commission met last night.   Mayor Gary Davis and the Commission presented Lucy Rymer from the Museum Center at Five Points

The County Commission met last night.

Mayor Gary Davis and the Commission presented Lucy Rymer from the Museum Center at Five Points a plaque in honor of National Arts and Humanities Month.

The Mayor also asked for an interlocal agreement on non-contiguous annexation to be placed in the next voting session. However, the Commissioners will discuss the resolution during two separate future work sessions. The resolution is a result of concerns from a presentation given to the City Council in August by City Manager Joe Fivas. In the meeting, Fivas discussed potential future annexation scenarios involving annexation by referendum as well as noncontiguous annexation, which is the annexation of an area that does not currently border the City of Cleveland City limits. The presentation prompted discussions and concerns among County Commissioners and officials with the City of Charleston.

3rd District Commissioner and Finance Committee Chairman, Milan Blake reported that the Finance Committee met on October 17th to take up the Opiod Settlement Appropriations. The Committee has spoken to several organizations and will further discuss allocation amounts during their next meeting.
