The Bradley County Board of Education met last night.

 

During the Director of Schools Report, Dr. Linda Cash recognized the BCHS FFA for being awarded the National Gold Emblem Award. This is the 56th year the club has earned the distinction. 

 

Dr. Cash also recognized the Bradley County Teachers of the Year – Lindsey Mosley, a 4th Grade teacher at Waterville Elementary, Cara Rogers, a Music teacher at Michigan Avenue Elementary, and Karen Shrestha, a Science teacher at WVHS. 

 

Nutrition Supervisor, Emily Brown, was commended for starting Thanksgiving meals with families again for the first time since the pandemic. Bradley County Schools will have served 14k meals by the end of this week.

 

Jared Waldrop with ATS the Bridge, gave a presentation about the organization’s mission and talked about the new program STAND UP! The program helps kids see the problems drug use can cause and shows them how they can make different choices. 

 

The PIE Center announced 3 new tenants- Sweet Carolines Cheesecake, a dental firm, and a property management office. 

The next board meeting will be on December 14th.
