Pumpkin Palooza

Pumpkin Palooza – a friendly pumpkin carving competition and party for Bradley & other surrounding counties – is coming to Avail Senior Living.
On Friday, October 28, guests can take in the pumpkin-carving action while enjoying a Halloween party atmosphere with snacks, a live band and other fun events like a photo booth. Costumes are definitely encouraged, but not required.
“We want guests to have fun while watching our teams create pumpkin masterpieces,”. We would love to see the community come together to bring multiple different teams! So, get your friends or co-workers together and sign up your team today. And for those not into carving, come enjoy the party!”
Pumpkin Palooza is a free event to attend.
Enter a Pumpkin Carving Team
The Pumpkin Palooza carving competition is open to businesses, sports teams, family/friends, and any group that wants to test their pumpkin carving skills. Each team is made up of two to five participants who work together on a single entry that will be judged against the entries of other teams. Teams are encouraged to be creative and think big when planning their pumpkin design. Teams are also encouraged to dress in costume and decorate their tables for a chance at winning the Team Spirit Award.
The team registration fee is FREE. For teams with more than five members, we ask that you form multiple teams to split up. To register for the carving competition call us at (423)505-5998.
Prizes for the competition include trophies for first, second and third place in the carving contest; Team Spirit Award – awarded to the team with the most spirit. Attitude, costumes, decorations, etc. will be considered by the judges when choosing a winner; and People’s Choice Award – during the 90-minute carving period, guests can vote for their favorite team. The team with the most votes will win People’s Choice.
Avail will provide a table for you team to carve, but teams are to provide all supplies such as:
• Table Décor
• Carving Tools & any other items for decorating your pumpkins
• Pumpkins
Pumpkin Palooza Event Schedule
5:00 pm — CARVER SET UP
Carving teams arrive at Avail Senior Living and set up their carving stations by 7 pm. Teams will use this time to gut their pumpkins and decorate their table.
7:00 pm — READY, SET, CARVE!
Carving begins and guests are welcome to arrive. 90 minutes of furious pumpkin carving action ensues. In addition to carving, the band, photo booth and food trucks will be open.
8:30 pm — CARVING ENDS / STATION PREP
Carving ends. Teams prep their stations for judging.
8:45 pm — JUDGING
Judges will make their rounds, scoring each entry.
9:00 pm — WINNERS ANNOUNCED
