In an effort to provide an additional layer of protection at two county high-schools, Sheriff Eric Watson will assign personnel to security booths directly in front of both campuses.

Bradley Central High School and Walker Valley High School will now have an armed deputy sheriff who will maintain a written log to check individuals who come and leave the school campuses during the day. Additionally, a marked patrol vehicle will be stationed in conjunction with the security booth as a visible presence of the Bradley County Sheriff Office’s presence.

Since 2014, Sheriff Eric Watson has added a crossing guard at Walker Valley High School and an additional School Resource Officer at Bradley Central High School. Both county high-schools will now have three assigned security personnel from the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office to help with school security operations.

From the Cleveland Daily Banner…

Work is progressing on getting the Bradley Courthouse back into regular operations.

The new HVAC system, which has been specially designed for the courthouse, has now arrived and is now being stored in the basement.

Workers recently placed portions of what will be the new HVAC system on the roof.

Much of that work can’t continue until other repairs and renovations can progress further.

Insurance has now approved the idea of a sprinkler system. They now have to get the architect’s drawings of the sprinkler system and agree on a price, which can take weeks.

The goal remains for the courthouse to be up and running by late April or early May.

And finally…
