A Bradley County woman was killed in a traffic accident just outside Cincinnati late Monday morning.

According to information released by the Dearborn County, Ind., Sheriff’s Office, the fatality was identified as Maranda Kinsley Wright, 19, of 326 Ladd Springs Road S.E. The accident occurred around 11:30 a.m. on Interstate 275, southbound, near the 16-mile marker.

Reports from the sheriff’s office said that when deputies arrived at the scene of the accident, they observed where Wright’s Chevrolet Silverado was involved in a collision with a tractor-trailer driven by Timothy D. Taylor of Science Hill, Ky.

Wright’s vehicle was fully engulfed in flames when the deputies arrived. According to the sheriff’s office report, Wright had been removed from the vehicle prior to it catching fire.

Reports stated that Wright collided with the rear of the tractor-trailer that had been moving slowly due to congested traffic from road construction in that area. Taylor did not sustain any injuries from the accident.

Wright was eventually transported by the University of Cincinnati Air Care to the university’s medical center, where she was pronounced dead Monday afternoon.

Details of the funeral service for Wright were incomplete as of news time. Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family in those services.

One of the individuals implicated in conspiracy in the October murder of Tyler Worth had his charges dismissed in Bradley County Criminal Court on Monday.

Jeff Crumley was one of three who testified at the May trial of Jody Hughes. Hughes was convicted of first-degree murder, kidnapping, tampering with evidence and conspiracy to tamper with evidence, and Crumley had been charged in the conspiracy to tamper with evidence, as he was alleged to have been involved in the disposal of Worth’s body.

The charged against Crumley were dropped, according to District Attorney General Steve Crump, as he helped law enforcement locate Worth’s body, as well as was not involved in the actual homicide. Worth’s body was located in a ravine in Polk County, where Crumley reportedly disposed of it following the Oct. 11, 2015, murder.

The prosecution, in dismissing the charges against Crumley after the agreement was upheld, said it was trying to lessen the pain of the Worth family.

Driving a school bus is a tough job and many school districts are having a hard time finding people willing to do it.

That’s why the Cleveland City School District is trying something new this summer to attract qualified drivers.

The district is offering a training class to teach people how to drive a school bus and help prepare them to get their CDL license.

Cleveland City Schools is looking for qualified applicants who understand the responsibility of driving a school bus.

During the class, instructors will teach applicants about the components of a school bus. They’ve also set up a driving course so potential drivers can get comfortable maneuvering a school bus in a safe environment.

This is the first time Cleveland City Schools has offered a class to teach a group of people at once and pay for the training from start to finish.

The training program starts next week.

Anyone interested should fill out an application as soon as possible.

Contact Cleveland City Schools at (423) 472-9571 or pick up an application at the district office located at 4300 Mouse Creek Road in Cleveland, TN.
