In news today…

The Cleveland City Schools Board of Education approved the CCS Reopening Guide at its July 7th, 2020 school board meeting. Included in that plan are the various phases for opening schools which are dependent on COVID-19 active counts for Bradley County. For example, when .25-1% of the total Bradley County population have a confirmed active case, the district is in the Yellow phase which calls for wearing of masks, modified classroom schedules, at-home learning based on school situations, and other factors. However, as we move to 1% or more of the Bradley County population having an active case, the district enters the Red phase which does call for all schools to enter at-home learning until active COVID-19 cases subside.

As of Monday, November 30, there are currently 761 active COVID-19 cases in Bradley County. You are being encouraged to prepare for the Red phase if these numbers continue to increase. For teachers and school-based employees, this means now is the time to think through what at-home learning may look like for our students and families. Prepare now for lesson plans, packets, etc. that will engage students while at home for a number of days. For families, please plan now for what at-home learning may look like for you as well. For your convenience, the reopening plan is located online at clv.city/reopening.
