In news today…

The Cleveland Police Department has been graciously chosen to be represented on CBS’s Lip Sync to the Rescue special. Out of the 30 first responder agencies that were chosen for this special, the Cleveland Police Department is the only agency to represent Tennessee.

No information has been relayed concerning the end of the voting period, however, a recent email from CBS revealed that 1 million votes have already been received to date.

There is no cap on the amount of times a voter can cast a vote, so the CPD is asking their friends, family and brothers and sisters from other agencies to please cast multiple votes. To vote as many times as you want, use the link below:

From WRCB Channel 3…

Two people are dead and a third wounded after a shooting at the Tanger Five Oaks Outlet Mall in Sevierville.

According to Bob Stahlke, spokesperson for Sevierville Police, the shooting was reported just outside the Coach store before 4 p.m.

Stahlke said the shooter fired a gun at two people and then committed suicide. One of the victims was killed and the other was transported to a hospital for treatment.

No other details were available, other than that it was not an active shooter situation. The mall later reopened as there was no danger to the public.

From the Cleveland Daily Banner…

Autumn Hughes reports: Four departments will be brought before the Bradley County Commission’s Finance Committee next week for hearings held as part of the 2019-20 fiscal year budget process.

In a brief meeting Monday, Finance Committee Chairman Milan Blake said the purpose of that meeting was to decide which departments to bring in for budget hearings. The budget hearings will be held beginning at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, in the Louie Alford Commission Conference Room at the Courthouse.
