WACKER-Charleston is pleased to have been recognized in October for its many comprehensive ongoing sustainability contributions with the Chattanooga Regional Manufacturers Association (CRMA)’s 2020 Energy/Environment Award.

The annual CRMA awards recognize members across several industries in the region for exemplifying practices that result in manufacturing excellence; recipients are selected in five categories including Energy/Environment. WACKER-Charleston excelled in all criteria, including the execution of its solid environmental program, recycling and waste reduction practices, energy reduction and efficiency improvements, and employee engagement.

The Charleston manufacturing campus’s commitment to a positive environmental impact goes even deeper than its production practices. Its new HDK® plant, launched late in 2019, recycles a by-product from site operations, reducing consumption and waste. The reduced consumption of raw materials has a direct impact on CO2 emissions into the environment.

Team members also work tirelessly to support environmental activities in the local community and across the region through contributions to WACKER Sustainability Week activities held this year from October 19-23.
