The consultants hired to formulate a downtown revitalization plan made their long awaited presentation Monday before the Cleveland City Council. Cleveland Mayor Kevin Brooks spoke to WCLE News about the proposal:
The consulting firm WSP recommended that the Cherokee hotel be converted to a hotel or for residential use. The museum district would have a large area proposed with an amphitheater. The Mill District would see the development of a sports complex. The Whirlpool district would see an adventure park with ropes course and rock wall.

Larry Bowers reports: Residential development moved to the forefront in April’s building permits for the city of Cleveland.
Thirty-five of the 47 building permits issued were for single-family homes, apartments, duplexes or townhomes.
The total value for April’s building permits was $9,046,530, with $5,293,325 for residential, $2,001,000, for commercial, and $1,752,205 for additions and alterations.
The Cleveland Planning Office also collected $1,527 in fees for 11 land disturbance permits for the month.
There were only two commercial permits provided for the fourth month of the year, but one was for a major $1,861,000 project for the Mars Wrigley complex at 3500 Peerless Road.
