In news today…

The Bradley County Commission met on Monday and discussed numerous items. One item of note was the resignation of an unnamed sessions court judge, who Mix 104-1 News later learned is judge Daniel Swafford, which will be effective September 30th. The commission will be choosing a replacement at a future date.

Bradley County EMS director Shawn Fairbanks also spoke about the coronavirus, and the county’s preparation for it. He explained that Bradley County EMS employees are trained and have the necessary equipment to handle the coronavirus. Fairbanks encouraged citizens of Bradley County to wash their hands and to avoid touching their face – two preventative measures that fight against the virus. 

Also in news today…

The Cleveland City Council met Monday. During their session, they voted to reappoint Scott Taylor. No special presentations or comments took place during the meeting. Councilman Dale Hughes gave commendation to Tommy Hawk, whose work is helping Indian Hill become a reality. He also commended Police Chief Mark Gibson for his choice of Stacey Smith as Assistant Chief of Police.

The city’s office will be closed on May 25th, and the meeting scheduled for that date has been moved to May 26th.

Chattanooga Police are asking the community for help finding an 84-year-old man they say has been missing from his group home since Friday, March 6.

Police say Grady Tinsley was last seen at 12:30 p.m. on Friday at his group home on the 2300 block of Chamberlain Avenue.

Police say Tinsley has onset dementia, impaired speech, and other medical conditions. He is described as 5’2″ tall, 140 pounds, with blue eyes and partially balding hair.

He was last seen wearing a blue hat, black and yellow Pittsburgh Steelers jacket, grey shirt, and blue jeans.
