Times Free Press- Woodmore Elem. Bus Crash A minor will suffer from disability, disfigurement and a traumatic brain injury because of the deadly Woodmore Elementary school bus crash, according to a third lawsuit filed Monday in connection with the tragedy. Walker will appear back in court December 15th. The Cleveland Daily Banner- Bradley County taxpayers wanting to “dump the lump” — that is, the annual lump-sum property tax payment which can be replaced with a monthly installment plan over the course of the year — have until Friday to sign up during the current enrollment period. A second registration for the coming tax year will be offered Jan. 4, 2017, through Feb. 10, 2017, according to Bradley County Trustee Mike Smith. For the current tax season, 1,190 Bradley County homeowners are signed up for the partial payment plan, a people-friendly initiative launched in 2010. It is also recognized as the 12-month payment program; however, monthly is not the only option. Local residents also have the option of negotiating other payment cycles with the Trustee’s Office such as quarterly or twice yearly, or whatever sequence best suits the cash flow of taxpayers. Specific details are available by contacting the Trustee’s Office, either by phone or personal visit web based project management tools. For those wanting to register this week before Friday’s deadline, the Trustee’s Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondaythrough Thursday, and 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday. Fires- The death toll in the historic Gatlinburg fires has risen to 14, National Park Service spokeswoman Dana Soehn confirmed Sunday. Officials now estimate 1,684 structures have been damaged or destroyed by the fires, and 134 people sustained injuries. Cleveland Police Officer Bulow showed extra enthusiasm, as well as some sweet dance moves Monday as he and fellow Cleveland police joined in to help the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Drive Monday at the WalMart of Keith Street. The drive was a match between the Cleveland PD and the Bradley Sheriff’s Office to see which team can raise the most money for the Salvation Army.
