From WRCB Channel 3…

In Meigs County, some spent the day cleaning up after Sunday night storms.

The storms brought down trees, knocked out power and even rolled a mobile home.

Two people were hurt when it happened.

Tony Finnell, Meigs County Emergency Services Director, said the men were taken to the hospital with minor injuries after they were thrown from the home during Sunday night’s storm.

The National Weather Service in Morristown did not tour the area but believes straight line winds caused the damage.

Insurance companies will now determine how families will move forward.

From the Chattanoogan…

One person was charged with disorderly conduct after a fight at Hamilton Place Mall on the day before Christmas.

A local Facebook page that includes a number of gang mentions posted videos of the fight. The videos and comments on Facebook contained graphic language.

Chattanooga Police said Rueben Williams was issued a citation in lieu of arrest for disorderly conduct.

Williams and others involved in the fracas were banned from the mall for two years.

Police said Williams was issued a citation, instead of being taken to jail, “since there wasn’t a victim.”

From WDEF Channel 12…

A mother is thankful for a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper’s kindness after her son had a meltdown.

A picture of Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Dakota Bromley and Chelsey Daniel’s son Wyatt is gaining attention.

On Christmas, the nearly two year old and his mom were on their way to a friend’s house for dinner.

They stopped at Weigel’s in Sweetwater to get gas and her kid was throwing a fit. Her son is obsessed with cop cars, and saw a Tennessee Highway Patrol vehicle when she got him out of the car.

Trooper Bromley gave the boy a teddy bear. She says that it made his night, and she appreciates what Trooper Bromley did after her son’s meltdown.

She said it was a real act of Christmas kindness, as we don’t see that much lately. The world is full of cruelty and not much kindness anymore, so it was nice of him to make her son’s night like that.

Others are hearing about the kind gesture through Facebook.
