Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) officials say charges are pending against a Cleveland man involved in an early morning crash on Interstate 75.

It happened around 2:06 a.m. Monday on I-75 northbound at mile marker 19.6, not far from the East Cleveland bypass exit.

According to THP’s Sergeant Alan Bailey, the driver of a 2001 Infiniti was headed north and passed a Kia that was in the slow lane.

When the Infiniti driver crossed back into the slow lane, he lost control and hit the guard rail on the right side, according to the THP.

Sgt. Bailey says the Infiniti then bounced off and back into traffic, at which point the Kia hit his car.

At this time, it’s not clear whether either of the drivers were injured. Sgt. Bailey says charges are pending against the driver of the Infiniti, a Cleveland man, but the THP has not yet said what those charges are.
