From WRCB Channel 3…

TDOT crews have reopened the portion of I-75 North that leads to the I-24 West on ramp, following a beam collapse on Monday morning.

TDOT crews have removed the beam that was hanging from the I-75 South overpass of I-24 West.

TDOT crews are now working to replace the beam that fell from the overpass and remove the debris from I-24 West.

TDOT officials say the overpass is inspected every two years. The last inspection in 2018 showed the overpass was in good condition, according to TDOT officials.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible.
