Tim Siniard reports the co-owner of Westside Christian Academy says he is currently seeking a new location for the school after its present building suffered a partial collapse last week, after a sinkhole developed near its foundation.
Ben Phillips said he has looked at 11 properties so far. Once a location has been selected, he said he is hopeful that state and local regulators will quickly approve the new location of the childcare facility and preschool.
As of Wednesday morning, there are now four sites the school owners are considering.
According to the school’s Facebook page, there will be a late-afternoon meeting Thursday to discuss the relocation options for the school. It will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the main sanctuary of Westmore Church of God. The school’s owners and school staff will be present to answer questions.

Hundreds of volunteers will spread across 20 cleanup zones in Hamilton, Marion and Bradley counties this weekend to clean the banks of the Tennessee River and its tributaries.
The 30th anniversary of the Tennessee River Rescue will take place Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Cleanup will take place in Cleveland, Soddy-Daisy, Chattanooga, Harrison, East Ridge and Jasper. Zone leaders and contact information for those interested in volunteering can be found at tennesseeriverrescue.org.

Chattanooga Police have released more information on the little girl struck by an SUV this afternoon in East Chattanooga. A woman parked her vehicle and the child got out and walked around the back of the vehicle.
But the SUV, in the wrong lane, hit her.
Police say the three year old was taken to the hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
The vehicle fled the scene even though several people tried to stop him.
The vehicle was described as a silver SUV with a bike attachment, and possible damage to the hood. It was last seen traveling south on Dodson Avenue.
